Out of the mouth of babes

I just finished helping Naomi type her talk for primary tomorrow. This was such a precious experience that I needed to get it posted right away. I told her the theme was about missionary work and sharing the gospel of others so they could get to know Jesus. We have been talking about the Book of Mormon at home a lot and she has wanted to learn to read it. I started with Nephi and she wanted to "go back further" so we started with the introduction. She was so pleased when she learned to read the first sentence. Obviously, this needed to be in her talk. She then turned to Mosiah (that's my girl!!) and insisted on the verses that are in her talk as well. I corrected some of the grammar and filled in a few words here and there, but for the most part it is all Naomi. Happy reading! If this doesn't bring a smile to your face, nothing will.

Naomi's Talk

In the beginning of the Book of Mormon it says, "The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scriptures comparable to the Bible." The world knows about the stories in the Bible, but they don't know about the stories in the Book of Mormon. These stories tell us more about Jesus and why he loves us so much.

I love the scripture in Mosiah 15 verses 8 and 9. It says, "And thus God breaketh the bands of death, having gained the victory over death; giving the Son power to make intercession for the children of men. Having ascended into heaven, having the bowels of mercy; being filled with compassion towards the children of men; having broken the bands of death, taken upon himself their iniquity and their transgressions, having redeemed them and satisfied the demands of justice." Jesus is my older brother. I love him and I know he loves me.

Also, in the book of Mosiah, chapter 15, verse 27 it starts out by saying, "Therefore, ought ye not to..." Yes, we ought to go out and invite everyone to learn more about Jesus. I think people need to know that Jesus loves them and we should share his story with everyone!

I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
